Welcome to my site. My name is Ellis Potter. I am going to use this site to talk about the benefits of obtaining signs for your business. When I started my first company, I mainly relied on word-of-mouth advertising to obtain new customers. As a result, I did not value the use of signs for advertising. Instead, I focused on providing excellent customer satisfaction with every transaction. Eventually, I learned that signs would propel my company to new heights. I invested in signs and saw my customer rate triple in a short amount of time. I would like to use this site to talk about all of the different types of signs on the market today. Please follow along to learn more.
Banners can be a great solution for temporary advertising, whether you are advertising a special event at your business or simply want the option to regularly change your advertisement. Just like permanent signs, fliers, and magazine advertising, banners follow special design principles that make them highly visible and easy for potential clients to read. However, even if you have a creative, well-designed banner, it will be ineffective if it is not placed properly and securely. Besides placing your banner in high-traffic areas, here are five things you need to know about hanging your outdoor banner.
Design Your Banner After You Know Your Placement
Knowing the general placement of your banner can help you during the design process. You will want to design a banner that contrasts with its surroundings enough to be noticeable but not so much that it causes eye strain when potential clients read it. Alternatively, if you are placing a banner in a place where there is slow foot traffic, such as near a park or shopping area, you may choose to creatively integrate some of the surrounding aspects into the banner, making it more interesting for people passing by.
Avoid Windy, Wet, and Sunny Areas
Although vinyl banners are generally considered waterproof, they can still degrade faster if they are constantly exposed to harsh weather such as wind, rain, and sunshine. To keep your banner looking new longer, you should place it beneath an overhang where it is protected from weather. If that is not possible, you should regularly check your banner for signs of wear so that you can replace it or repair it when necessary.
Use High Quality Grommets and Nylon Rope
Most printing shops will offer a variety of methods for hanging banners. One of the most secure ways is to tie nylon ropes through metal grommets. When requesting grommets, make sure that they are placed at least an inch away from the edge of the banner to prevent tearing. You should tie the banner to at least four points for temporary mounting or eight points for a more permanent solution. When tying the banner, you should use a taut line hitch to allow maximum tension in the line and prevent movement of the banner.
Check Visibility From Multiple Distances
Once you have selected a place to hang your banner, you should check its visibility from multiple distances. When checking, you should consider how long it takes to read the banner and whether the banner is noticeable in its current position. If you find that you cannot read the banner easily, you should move it to a place where people are moving more slowly or where there are fewer visual distractions.
Take Your Banner Down If It Begins To Show Signs Of Age
Unfortunately, many business owners hang a banner outside of their store and then forget about it. This practice can actually hurt your business by drawing negative attention to it. A banner that advertises old sales makes it look like your business has no current events. Similarly, a banner that looks worn or torn suggests that your business may not offer modern, up-to-date goods or services. For this reason, you should regularly check all of your banners. If you hang banners for special events, you should make sure to take them down when the event is over. You should also plan to change your banners at least once a year, to attract new customers and keep your business interesting to returning customers.
Banners can be a cheap, effective form of advertising. If you hang them properly and use evergreen content, you should be able to reuse your banners for years by simply rotating your banners each season.
